I’m considering getting a tummy tuck as I just had a baby boy 6 months ago, and always had a flat tummy before…but YEs now I have the poochie thing. YuCK!!! Can anybody show me personal before & after photos? Share experiences of your surgery i.e. the pain, recovery time, cost, etc??? Thanks in advance.
A few of you have been asking for the pre-op pictures of the surgeon’s markings right before the surgery. I just took a video of the slide show on my computer so the quality isn’t that great, but at least you get the idea. So, you see the line right across my belly button and then the watermellon shape all the way to the sides and below??? ALL of that is now GONE!! My surgeon removed all of that excess fat and skin. On the last shot in the 3rd picture you can see how far my belly is protruding — it’s doing that not because I’m overweight — it’s that way because of the diastasis. (Muscle separation) My doc later told me that themuscle separation was a lot larger than we had originally thought. Now that those muscles are pulled in tight and sutured together, my stomach is in the position it should be. I can’t wait to show you all my new tummy . . . all to come very soon! Go to www.tummytucktalk.ning.com — it is an incredible PRIVATE network where you can connect with others for great advice! There is a screening process, so make sure you mention my name “Becky” — tell them that you were referred by me.

If I got a tummy tuck in the next few months and then decided to have a baby next year or in the near future, will it ruin my surgery? Does your stomach look worse after birth with or without a tummy tuck? With a tummy tuck, is it easier to get streach marks. i would like medical answers as well as answers from those with personal experience. Bottom line, Is it a waste of money to do a tummy tuck now if I plan to have a child in the future?

Yesterday, I was exactly 26 weeks pregnant with twins. Today, I went to the dr and he got really upset because I have gained 26 lbs from the time I found out I was pregnant. He said ideally I should only gain 25 lbs throughout the ENTIRE pregnancy!!! I guess I had a funny look on my face because he said right after that "How much do you think you should gain?" I said well I had read 35 to 45 lbs with twins. Also, I had a different doctor in the beginning and he said 35 to 45 pounds was normal. I stopped using him though because I wanted to get a dr closer to my home, so I switched drs. My weight was normal before pregnancy I wasn’t obese or underweight before pregnancy. I have gained 26 pounds in 26 weeks. I didn’t think that was bad. I didn’t think it was too much or too little. I went to americanpregnancy.org (I posted the link below) and sure enough it says 35 to 45 pounds. My dr asked me if I was getting a tummy tuck after the delivery. I said I was not. He then told me that I might get stretch marks and acted like it was horrible! I told him that I didn’t want stretch marks but that I would get over it if that happened. I just don’t understand. I know I shouldn’t be gaining more than 35 to 45 pounds but to me only gaining 25 pounds is ridiculous. He was so upset about I felt like crying! Did anyone else who had twins gain over 25 pounds? Did your dr get mad? Also, here is the link I found below.
Im looking into getting a mini tummy tuck. I’ve watched videos of the sugery, seen before and after results done by the plastic surgeon Im looking into. And Im pretty interested in getting it done in the future. I have like no extra weight on me, just the lose skin on my stomach that will not tighten from my pregnancy. I really wont be bothered by the scaring it will leave.
So if you or someone you know has had this done, how did the recovery go? And how much did it cost?
Well actually, its not me its my sister. It all started with a nose job cuz shes always been self conscious about her nose. then she got a boob job and loved it. and dont get me wrong, im all for a little fix and a little nip tuck here and there but when you become obsessive like she has, its a whole different story. after that she got a breast lift, ears pinned back, eyebrow lift, lipo in her lower cheeks and neck/chin, lip injections, botox, cheek and chin implants, and lipo on almost her whole body (stomach, hips, thighs, upper arms, back) a tummy tuck after her daughter and i thought okay, there isnt anything left to do…but now she wants rediculous things like to have her toes shortened, butt implant, a surgery to make her areolas smaller. shes only 25! shes also got latisse to make her lashes longer and is OBSESSED with going tanning, and i probably forgot about a couple surgries. she obviously has BDD or something and i dont know how to help her. she was pretty before, she was prom queen and everyone has always told her shes gorgeous and shes still pretty now just not as much as before but im afraid shes not gonna stop and shes gonna look crazy! she doesnt listen to us, what do i do?
I know of two women who have had BY-PASS surgery on the taxpayers backs (Public Aid). neither of the two had diabetes, high blood pressure etc. So far, one of the two has had a tummy tuck after losing all the weight (again on taxpayer money). MY WIFE…who had High blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol had the surgery as well. Difference is my wife had to jump through hoops and wait over 2 years before her insurance would approve (she happens to work for a living)…after losing the weight (and losing her diabetes, high blood pressure etc.) she was was DENIED the tummy tuck to remove all the hanging skin. Insurance said NO.
Who would I contact to complain about this (public aid, our tax dollars etc.) ??
I have had the surgery now for about 4 1/2 years. I have had the tummy tuck ect…No therapy was offered before or after and i sure wish it had been. I entered a whole new world that I knew nothing about.I am pretty, skinny and have a kick butt body…my mind is still not there! go figure…any advice?
